Sridevi Comeback Movie – English Vinglish
After a long break of fourteen years, Sridevi has given a kick-start to her second innings in Bollywood with her last released movie ‘English Vinglish‘ in 2012. Before this she was seen on big screen in 1997 superhit movie ‘Judaai‘, along with Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.
English Vinglish is made in two Indian languages, Hindi and Tamil, and Sridevi playing lead role in both versions. It may surprise you that she has made a comeback in Tamil movies after 26 years.
English Vinglish, a Hindi drama film, is produced by R. Balki, and directed by his wife Gauri Shinde. R. Balki is known for his unique film such as ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’. His concepts are so well written that it creates interest even on a paper. Now this time his wife Gauri made a debut as a director with Sridevi as protagonist. This is Sridevi’s first Internationally screened movie as it was premiered at prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in September 2012.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is made a guest appearance in it. English Vinglish is an eye feast for all moviegoers to see Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan together on silver screen after ‘Khuda Gawaah‘. Priya Anand, an actress of Tamil and Telugu cinemas, stepped in Hindi films through English Vinglish.
Music of the film is composed by Amit Trivedi, who gave unique innovative style of music for Abhay Deol starrer Dev D. Film was mostly shot in beautiful locations of New York and expected to release on 21 September 2012.

Story of English Vinglish
The story mainly revolves around a simple Indian housewife Shashi (Sridevi) who struggles to speak English as everyone mocks her because of poor language. She decides to learn the language so that she can please her husband and kids. She enrolls in an institute to tackle her problems. English Vinglish is a transformational journey of Shashi and most of its parts are shot in New York.
